You can also make Glowme cooperate with some of the apps on your phone, so it can produce light music effects when you turn on your favorite music player or signal you what turn you should take on the road when you use your favorite navigation app, such as Waze or Google maps. Glowme’s smart consists of a rubber cover with an embedded smart RGB LED strip.
The LED strip is controlled by a micro-controller, connected to the smartphone via a uniquely designed USB connector. The micro-controller stores different lighting patterns and can be commanded to activate a certain pattern through a specially created Glowme application running on the smartphone. There are about 20 individually addressed LEDs on the strip with 24bits of color that can be assigned to each LED, which results in (224)20=244 degrees of freedom for a lighting pattern at each moment in time. That is quite a lot of patterns J. We have programmed some of the more interesting and more exciting patterns on the micro-controller for different purposes.
